Laurie in her studio

Laurie in her studio

Laurie began her studies in Paris at the respected Parsons University. After receiving a solid artistic foundation she returned to the States where she earned her Masters of Art at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

“Laurie’s educational background in art allows her a multifaceted approach to the stretched canvas. Her groups of color and her painting style are uniquely hers.” (Quote from Emile Mathis of Mathis Fine Art Gallery.)

Laurie’s extensive travels are revealed in her work with her wide range of natural settings and her use of perspective. Her paintings are filled with a cheerful feeling that captivates and pleases her audiences. Her use of color and movement draw the eye across the canvas and explode with a vitality that encourages the imagination of the spectator to see himself or herself as a participant in the painting.

To Laurie, color is the most important element of her life. She uses this passion to convey all the wonderful senses of nature and life!

The variety, texture, size and color in Laurie’s extraordinary paintings are informed by her life. She has lived broadly and intensely all over the world. Museums, courses in a wide range of subjects honed her skills and technique. Her intensity, intelligence and talent were nourished by the hills of Tuscany, the colors of many years in Paris, and Amsterdam in the Spring.
